Tomorrow, "Isis and the Seven Scorpions" will receive its first production outside of the Canadian Opera Company. Over the past few years, I've come to value the 'second' production almost as much as the first. There's so much excitement wrapped up around the premiere that you sometimes lose track of the actual work. It is really the productions that follow that give a true sense if this is a piece to last.
The opera is being produced by Opera Nuova in Edmonton who have done two great productions of The Brothers Grimm in the last few years. If you want to check out their website, it is www.operanuova.ca. Check back later for photos from the production!
